Guest Managment

Managing your guest list can be horrific at times. Having a guestlist will be beneficial in terms of keeping tabs on your headcount for catering concerns, as well as seating and security issues come the day of the event. Here are a few tips on how you could manage your guest list.

Draft your guestlist. Before you even start booking your venues, try to draft your guestlist. Consider the people that you would want to invite at your wedding. Consider also the number of guest that your parents would want to invite. These may include relatives from far places and their friends that they might want to invite too.
Take note of the people from that list that are more likely to come on your special day.

RSVP. Include in your reception card the numbers of people they can call to confirm their attendance or regrets. Also, you may ask someone to call your guests to confirm their attendance. The couple or their family member calling their guests is discouraged. Most of your guests will be embarassed to let the couple or family of their "regrets" and would just tell them they are coming even if they can't. As you get closer to your big day, the number of your guests will be important if you'd need to increase your reservation with your caterer.

Allotted seats. If you have limited seating capacity or under a strict budget with your caterer. Try to limit the number of seats reserved for your guests. You may limit them to two per family. Or let them know via the reception card that only a few seats are reserved for them.

Photobooths

Couples usually take time in thinking what souvenir is best to give their guests during the wedding.

Here's a fun alternative to dust - accumulating, sometimes useless giveaways.

A digital photobooth!

Guests are given an average of 4 shots each shoot. All 4 shots will be printed out in 4"x 6" photo paper in a matter of seconds! An example of a layout below.

Various layouts are available for the couples to choose from. They can either be vertical or horizontal. Some photobooth vendors may even offer double printing. One for the guest, and one for the couple to keep.

Digital copies of the photos are given to the couple in CD format. Some of the photos can also be downloaded thru the photobooth supplier's website.

Why Hire a Planner or Coordinator?

entry 7/18/09

In today's ever changing and busy lifestyle, celebrations have become more complicated through the years. With couples and families seeking to have a memorable event that would last a lifetime. Each event getting bigger each time, with not just having the basics needs but it now has evolved into a creative project.

Hiring a planner or coordinator has been elevated from a want to a need. The busy schedule of people today and the growing need for someone to supervise everything just to make sure that details won't be missed has made a planner a MUST of every event.

Bayanihan. In the Filipino setting, family and friends gather to help organize any occasion. During the day of the event, family and friends don't really get to enjoy since they are in the frenzy of attending to everyone and everything. Wouldn't it be nice if someonelse took over instead so that the rest of the family can enjoy the occasion?

Expert's Advice. Planning a big event isn't easy as it looks. Most of the time, couples and their families want to be hands on with the planning, there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Also, most of the time, there are some unforseen obstacles that could have been avoided earlier on. Here is where a expert would come in handy. Giving scenarios as to what to avoid and how to overcome concerns that could have been overlooked by the couple or their families. Also, the planner could give you the proper expectations during the event and from every supplier, leaving less room for mere assumptions, miscommunication and issues that may arise during the event..

Savings. Having someone to give you a good advice could save you time and money. By having someone to do the legwork for you could save you time and money by commuting from one supplier shop to another. The planner can give you all the information you'll need, the same information you'll get directly from the supplier. Some planners can get discounts too from suppliers.

Organized event. On the day of the event, we'll never know what's exactly going to happen. Everyone in the family is busy attending to themselves and the celebrants. Little things could get out of hand and someone has to troubleshoot for you. Surely you don't want to be stressed on this special day. To have peace of mind and ease with the day's activities, you'll need someone to oversee everything on your behalf.

With all the advantages noted above, don't you think you'll need to hire a planner too?
